Description
The mold making week is part of the complete sculpture program. This course can be attended by summer course students who have made a portrait or figure at Figura. Under the guidance of experienced sculptors you will make a mold of your sculpture. The mold is suitable for making your own plaster casts at home. The mold can also be used to make casts in wax or bronze in a foundry.
Program
In the first two days students apply the rubber mold: 2 layers of silicone, a third layer plus walls and design of the undercut keys. Day 3 and 4 the mothermold is being made: plaster shell and walls, supports, clay recycling and opening, on the last day a splash coat is being made, then cleaning and a casting demo.
Time table
9:00 - 18.00 h (some days we might end around 20:00 h)
